If left on 4G with a stock battery,yes, it's terrible. I just ordered the 3800mAh extended life battery. Being rooted eats it up that much quicker ive noticed.

A lot depends on the quality of your cellular signal. If you're in a weak 4G area, the phone is constantly searching for a better signal. In addition, the background apps (social media) you're syncing can have a big impact on battery life depending on the frequency with which you sync.

I leave my phone on 3G most of the time despite the fact that I have good 4G coverage in order to help make it through the day. I had the Galaxy S3 for 10 days and that phone had pretty good battery life. If only the Nexus had that same chip set.
