Bought extended battery, now what?

So I just bought the official extended battery from Verizon, and I am still not having good battery life. I have tried numerous setups, and they are still not very much better than the stock battery. What ROM/Kernel/etc. setup have you guys had good results on? Any recommendations?

I use AOKP JB Build 1 with Franco, I also have the seidio 3800 battery. Most days I can go from 5am till 8pm with moderate use,mostly phone for work, some email and some facebook/ AC reading. I don't mind the bulk as I am in the trades and like something to hold with weight.

Oh wow. I think I may try that. I have the 2100 one though. Which Franco kernel are you using?

I'm on euroskank's rom with stock kernel and the 2100 battery. Moderate use I can go from 530am to 5pm before I need to charge. I have could set on demand and have email sync off.

Get a real extended battery, the "official" one is barely bigger than the original, 2100ma vs 1850ma. I have the Trexcell 3800ma battery, $20 on Amazon.

I think I'm gonna go back to stock rooted 4.0.4 for a little while. If that isn't good I'm definately gonna try the Euroskank ROM suggested by greyhd.

I even have it overclocked to 1305MHz and I've had very good luck so far after 48 hrs.
Drops to 230MHz when the screen is off. Uses next to no power when idle. No need for SetCPU when using the Franco kernel app. Also has some screen color/gamma tweaks.

i suffer no hardships doing this -

Battery Tips for Android

1. Toggle off LTE, WIFI, GPS, BT, NFC, Hotspot. Toggle on as needed.
2. Display Brightness - Turn off Auto Brightness and Reduce Setting Bar to Minimum.
3. Sign out of Google Latitude, GTalk, G+, Google Now, and Messenger. Disable Location Reporting/History.
4. Beware of constantly syncing Apps and Bloatware like Facebook, Twitter, News, Non-Push Email, etc. Set Sync interval for every 1 hour or more.
5. Turn off keyboard haptic feedback.
6. Don't use Live Wallpaper. Use dark wallpaper if possible.
7. Set Display Sleep Setting to 2 Minutes or Less.
8. Set WIFI to Always stay on during Sleep if you regularly use WIFI.
9. Turn off vibrate for Emails.
10. Be careful of using too many live widgets.
11. Sync Exchange Emails 30 Days or less.
12. Do NOT use a Task Killer App.

Thanks for those tips! Last night, I flashed the stock factory IMM76K and locked the bootloader. I am having not bad battery life, but this is boring lol. I'm gonna unlock the bootloader right now, and install a Jelly Bean ROM.
