Sweet! This worked for me. Thanks dookie!
To make the "hurry to System Updates" part easier. Before turning Airplane mode back off, I navigated to that screen and was ready to start clicking "Check Now". I did have a low battery though and it said it couldn't install unless I plugged in. Did that. Doing the reboot and install now.

And I doubt that it was "just my turn" because the phone said last checked about 15 minutes ago.

Just got mine about an hour ago, I did the trick once and nothing waited like ten mins tried again and finally it was there. I had also tried about 20 times the day before and nothing. Awesome I finally have it. Even though I was on aokp and before that other jelly bean roms I went back to stock for battery life and Idk just because I was curious of what stock jelly bean would feel like. It feels the same I just think my battery life will be better. One thing I wish they added was the ability to change the lock screen wallpaper. I will probably go back to roms just wanted to try stock. :/

Also on aokp I was getting data drops along with bad battery life like 7 hours on extended battery. Stock I never had a problem with dropping data, and battery life was like decent.

Glad to hear it, but the method isn't mine. Somebody a couple pages before me posted it originally... I was just summarizing.

I had been trying EVERY trick in this thread since Friday and nothing at all was working for me, until just now. Here's what I did (though my experience from this thread makes me think it's going to be hit or miss whether this works for anyone else):

    1) Turn on Airplane Mode
    2) Force stop/Clear Google Framework
    3) Turn off phone with Airplane mode still on
    4) Restart Phone
    5) Once booted, activate WiFi only, leaving Airplane mode still on (I used the Power Control Widget to toggle it on)
    6) Check for updates

Again, this probably won't work for everyone, but it's how I managed to get it after three days of trying everything else in this thread. Mine is installing now - good luck to everyone else who's still waiting!

I've been checking on and off since released, trying most of the methods herein. I think there's something to the checking just as Google Services (blue connection icons) are connecting... perhaps before they can ID the device and put you in your "proper" place in queue?

In any case, I do not believe this was a coincidence. Try it and see.
After total frustration with all tricks, I gave up yesterday and decided to wait it out. This morning I tried this just for grins using Power Toggles to turn Airplane Mode on/off quickly. Worked on the first try. Still cannot believe it. Tidewater Virginia.

BTW, if this works for you please go back a couple of pages and thank EnragedNinja for posting this technique. Your mother will be proud of you.

After checking for the update far too many times over the course of the weekend, using the airplane mode/google services framework method worked the first time for me. I did this about one minute after checking for an update without jumping through any hoops. Looks like this method works...

I tried the update method posted by EnragedNinja (thanks) and modified version by HeathWala (thanks). Neither one worked Waited a bit and then just turned on airplane mode, turned on wifi, cleared GFS cache, tried CHECK NOW and it worked! So there is some variety of combinations that may work. Guess you have to just keep trying different tings? Who knows...

OK. Just like everyone else, I tried all weekend with no luck. Today, I have been trying this morning and finally got it Here is how I got it to work.

Made sure settings app was not in recent apps (the 2 rectangle icon)
Used the power long press to get into airplane mode
Then went into apps-> GFS, force stop, clear data
Then turned on wi-fi via the power toggle widget (still in airplane mode though)
then checked for updates and got it.

Who knows if this did any good but it can't hurt to try.

Got it just now by clearing data from Google Framework. I did try several times by tapping force stop instead, but clearing the data did it for me. Awesome. So long overdue.
While it was installing There was a message that the update was available via wifi only until Oct 4th, so be sure to turn data off.

Finally got JB at around 3-4 am Pacific time today. Just waited for it the past few days and it automatically asked to download on my phone. Feels great so far!

Anyone else having issues with FoxFi WiFi mode after loading JB? Keeps telling me to use Bluetooth mode instead. Never had this issue on ICS.

Actually after the 4.1.1 update loaded after I put it down, thinking it wouldn't load, then I wrote the post about how to load it. Now it has loaded, so strangely all got loaded. But, thanks timato for checking in. I won't look back now..

---------- Post Merged at 03:23 PM ---------- Previous Post was at 03:21 PM ----------

It could very well have been 4.1.1 JB already on it, but after I forced the JB flavor to the GN, I went to the N7 and thought I saw the previous version. All is well now though and thanks for the reboot question slave2theaxe.
