I have noticed that my battery is dying a lot faster since my job update. I check battery usage and media is at the top of the list! Any ideas?

The battery usage meter is kind of useless... If Media is at the top it could signify a clustered sdcard partition, or corrupted files on it, but it's not definite. I'd give it some time. With a new OS installed complete with a fresh kernel and all that you are going to want to wait a few days / power cycles before trying to judge battery life.
