The battery usage meter is kind of useless... If Media is at the top it could signify a clustered sdcard partition, or corrupted files on it, but it's not definite. I'd give it some time. With a new OS installed complete with a fresh kernel and all that you are going to want to wait a few days / power cycles before trying to judge battery life.
