Default How can I create a Clone/"Image" of my Phone?

I use a program called Casper, similar to Acronis True Image and other software, to create a complete clone or image of my desktop's hard drive, as a back-up. Using that I can quickly and completely restore an identical copy of it in case something gets corrupted.

Is there an equivalent way to accomplish this with my SGN?

The reason is that I may have to do a factory reset to try and resolve a problem I'm having with connecting to my 3G Network Extender, but I'm not convinced that this will fix it. If it doesn't, it would be nice to quickly do a complete restore of where I was before the reset, without having to reinstall/reconfigure everything, which is obviously a fairly time consuming task.

    Thanks.

You can make a nandroid, which gets pretty close. You can also use adb commands to "pull" the entire kit and kaboodle.

Lastly, you can use something like Wug's Toolkit to back it up for you.

As dmmarck said, Wug's Toolkit is the way to go if you are not rooted. Makes it dead simple. However, this is not like a nandroid backup where everything is restored (like System Restore on Windows). This is backing up your media, files, and apps + data. It won't be like pressing "reset" on your "factory reset." There will be some reconfiguration required.

Thanks for the info and link. Verizon has escalated this issue to their Network division, and they're supposed to get back to me in 24 to 72 hours. Maybe they'll figure something out, but I want to be prepared in case they don't, and I need to reset.

    Hi DLCPhototography,
Did Verizon give you any answer about it? Have you found any solution?
I want to make a complete clone as I do with my PC using Acronis but I couldn't find how yet (without rooting).

    Thanks.

Wow - 3 year old thread, very old phone!

As I recall, it wasn't really possible to do what I wanted without rooting the phone. I don't think Verizon came up with any other useful solutions.

Are you still using a Galaxy Nexus? In its time, it was a pretty decent phone. I switched to the Galaxy Note 3 a year or so after I started this thread, which I'm still using, and it is a much, much better phone.
