new "Google Now" lock screen widget

you can supposedly add lock screen widgets on jelly bean 4.1.1 but I can't figure this out. Help!

Pretty sure I read that you need 4.2 for that to work. Meaning of course the Verizon GNex will get it the 3rd Tuesday in May, 2027

I have them right now. and I use a Verizon GNex. It's kind of disappoint that you can't swipe cards away on the widget.

True, but that's a limitation intrinsic to all widgets as opposed to a shortcoming of the Google Now widget in particular. Widgets have the ability to respond to short-press touch events and vertical gestures, but horizontal gestures are not included as it would interfere with homescreen scrolling.
