So the Verizon iPhone 5 and now confirmed HTC 8X are fully SIM unlocked and you can throw a AT&T and T-Mo SIM in them and use them on those networks. Verizon had said that after the iPhone 5 any LTE phone coming out would also be fully SIM unlocked. Can someone throw in a AT&T or T-Mo SIM and test it out?
Yes, i would love to know this too before I plunk down $700 for it. Those with the VZW Note 2, please grab a GSM sim card from a friend and let us know. Thanks!!
My Att sim worked fine, I placed a phone call. I didn't have APN settings configured to try a data connection. Its unlocked. Ill post screens later.
Awesome! This will be my last contract phone with VZW and I'm looking to to possibly take this and my wife's iPhone 5 to AT&T in the future. (AT&T HSPA+ is more than fine for me).Quote:

There is a thread on XDA that suggests that the APN cannot be changed. What we need is someone to verify whether 3G data from a different provider's SIM card works overseas.

lloyd50,can you confirm if you can get 3g data with the AT&T sim.No way to test yet my note 2 will arrive thursday.
I can't set a new APN unfortunately, voice calls work fine. No data though. Sorry for the late response
