Every time send a text message

Every time I send a text message with a mms like a picture it shows up on my note 2 as a video. Is there any way to fix this?

Same here. Saves as a photo correctly though. I pretty much shrug it off now.

I am not sure but I have never seen anything like this before. I hope someone can tell me how to fix it or tell me of another text application I can use.

I ditched the stock messaging app because of that. I use Handcent. Your pictures are sent and received as pictures and you can look at then in full screen. Plus there are a ton of other customizable things you can play with.

I noticed that too. +1 for Handscent. I also hated how the stock Messenger app doesn't clear the unread count after reading.

I love it! I have been using it on my last 5 or 6 android phones. I did try to give the stock one on the note a chance, but it failed miserably.

I noticed that if I attach a picture in a coversation it sends it as an MMS but if I am in the gallery and share a picture via messaging it sends it as a video.

On handcent do you still get the missed SMS bubble on it like the stock program

I thought that all mms containing pictures now automatically assume the slideshow format. It's not a movie. The play button is to play the slideshow. I thought this was just a standard Android thing since ICS. I don't like it either.

Definitely not part of AOSP. It behaves normally on my stock Galaxy Nexus. It's something Samsung has done to their messaging app.

I would bet it was Verizon that messed it up!

It's not just a Samsung thing... my old HTC Rezound did exactly the same thing, and the Galaxy S3 as well. That's why I thought it was just an Android thing now. So it must be Verizon trying to force certain vzw standards on us.

Other than using a different app, has anyone figured anything else out about this? I'm annoyed by this seeing as though I send a picture text to friends/family that don't have smartphones and can't see videos. They constantly text me and say they can't see the picture I sent them. (I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Axiom)
