My verizon data widget not updating

I use to use a 3rd party app for monitoring data usage but now that I am with Verizon and on a shared data plan I wanted to give their widget a chance since it shows shared data usage. Unfortunately the widget never updates on its own. If I click on the widget and let it go to the myverizon app it will update and show the shared data usage at that moment. Has anyone gotten this widget to actually refresh in real time or at lease once a day on its own or is it just a crappy app and I need to go back to my 3rd party solution and track it at an individual phone level?

They removed the auto refresh for some reason , I'm not sure why they did it

For the same reason they do anything $$$.
If it doesn't refresh and you accidentally go over your data so did that benefit?
Sorry to sound like a conspiracy theorist but they don't make it hard to think that way.
