Wasn't sure I even wanted the note 2 but for $98. Should I buy. What are pros and cons of this phone?

Is that with a contract? If so then that's great.

Yeah, but it's the contract where Verizon makes their nut. On this deal you save $200 off of the standard subsidized price of $300 which is nice, but you still pay at least another roughly $80 * 24 months = $1920. Not to mention the $35 activation fee in most cases. 'Course then there's often $7 full insurance you want for your puppy.

($80 = $40 for voice + $30 for 2gb data + $10 text)

1. i saved $200
2. my bill doesnt change from what it was before i bought the phone
3. $30 activation fee brings it to $128+ $13 for screen protectors and $20 for a case comes to $161. had i bought from verizon id have paid $363 vs $161
4. i dont do insurance

Above you say the $98 is with a 2 year contract. With a new 2 year contract yes your monthly bill might be the same as your old 2 year contract. I'm not sure how what you are saying goes against what I wrote about the Verizon customer still paying a lot although paying $98 is better than $300 for the phone.

Also how do you pay whether or not you have a contract unless without a contract you are month to month? And in that case you don't have to pay if you simply drop your month to month service. I don't see your point.

I am grandfathered into unlimited data. Let's say a family plan with 5 people with unlimited unthrottled 4glte on the lowest tier plan, that would be $50 per line. Since you have unlimited unthrottled 4glte on Verizon assuming grandfathered, you can talk and text all you want over data.

I am more than happy to switch to another carrier, post paid or prepaid, that can provide the same or at least in the same ballpark total network coverage(voice and 4g) and unlimited unthrottled 4g for $50 on average per person. Keep in mind my data usage... Any tiered or throttled plan won't work for me.

You are comparing no service vs service. No service would be cheaper than even the cheapest plan, no one is going to argue that.

My point. If you buy a phone at full price, you have no contract but you still have to pay a monthly bill for your use. I havent worked out numbers but im guessing someone who pays full price and someone who has a contract likely pays about the same unless the person with no contract closes their account
