    Default Galaxy UnPacked event tonight

Anyone think Samsung might announce a new software update for the Note 2 to keep it up to speed with the new S4 tonight? I would love to hear an "oh btw...4.2 is ready to be sent to carriers for S3's and Note 2's..."

    Thoughts?

Even if they do, it will take at least 3 to 5 months before showing up on Verizon Galaxy Note 2.

They will probably say something like 4.2 will be coming soon. Which will mean months away lol

I doubt they will say anything at all about any device besides the GS4.

The GS4 is using a PenTile screen (ugh) and the US version is NOT getting the Exynos Chip. I think the Note 2 will be snappier in day to day use. The Exynos Chip powering a 720 screen vs the Snapdragon on a 1080..1080 needs a lot of power. Though, I'm curious how the GPU's will stack up.

I really hate PenTile, also, there is no telling if Samsung has fixed the Antenna issues that has been on all their phones (except the N2, apparently). With the Moto X phone coming this summer and the Note 3 at the end of the year, I'm content to buy a Note 2 now off contract for $500 and sit on my upgrade to see what winter brings.

I also really wish they would have incorporated front facing speakers...

    It's reported all over.

    RGB (Left), PenTile (Right):

Looking at the progression of Samsung display technology I can almost hear a little Korean engineer saying "c'mon subpixels, hop hop, try to get in a row now".

Samsung, Just use IPS or SLCD. Thank you.

I absolutely agree 100% !@#$ Pentile, !@#$ it hard. I greatly look forward to the day when Samsung achieves 1080p on an RGB matrix so they can just let Pentile burn in a fire. Casuals don't mind Pentile, but man is it ugly.

Oh and I am greatly looking forward to the 4.2.2 update for us. Some of those features are pretty slick. I'm still curious how they managed Air View without the pen O.o
