I use to be able to bookmark a website and add it to my home screen. I guess this option no longer exists.

Is there a widget called "Bookmark"? That's a part of stock Android, so it ought to be available for the Note 2.

It's not possible on some 3rd party launchers.
Not sure if you're using a launcher other than the stock launcher.

Works for me using the stock browser, although to cdf3's point, I'm not using a 3rd party launcher.

In fact that's the reason I am not using Chrome.

Just installed Firefox. It can add Bookmark to Homescreen. So, may be an alternative to the stock browser. I'm going to use it for awhile and may phase out the stock browser if Firefox works as well as or better.
