hand motions

My note 2 is not taking a screen shot when moving the side of my hand over screen nor stopping notifications when placing Palm over screen. I have all the hand motions ON in settings. Anybody have any suggestions?

For screenshots, make sure the side of your palm is actually touching the screen. It was a bit tricky at first on my GS3 until I realized you actually had to be touching the screen....thought it was just me but I see a lot of people asking about it over the last year.
