Default home screen moved 4.3

How do you change which screen comes up when pressing the home button?

If you pinch in the screen from the edges you can see all screens in like mini view. I think the default is 5 but I only want 3 so I slide 2 off. You need an odd number so your main home screen is in the middle. It will look like 4 but the 4th one is for adding another. Hope that makes sense.
