What is this icon?

I know I am going to be totally embarrassed when I find out....but I just can't find anywhere what this icon in the task bar is?? I have looked at the full glossary of icons and don't see this one anywhere Thank you!

Yup, it's the GPS/location services indicator. Looks like you have all GPS/location stuff off.

Paul Thank you, but I have all gps turned off (at least I think I do) and when I do turn it on it is a different icon......

That is the icon showing its off. When you turn on gps it adds three curved lines to the right. They removed the whole icon in 4.3

Ah, ok so now I have it on (picture) so on or off that icon stays there?

Perfect, that answers why it has always been there.....I would rather it just go away entirely when it's off. I keep deferring 4.3

Thank you, I do appreciate it, but I did look everywhere before I posted. I have the full note 2 manual right on my desktop computer, it doesnt show that picture icon. I also googled it to death, no luck, and I also tried what you suggested above and I dont find that on my phone either.

I know what you mean! Just when you're thinking, "I got this, my Google fu is strong today"....

Hopefully the manual I linked to shows the icons correctly. It does when I pull it up (see screenshot below).
