Seidio convert or Otterbox defender
The convert looks like its available now on their website. I've never bought a Seidio product, only owned one otterbox but was pleased with the customer service.
How is the build quality of the seidio compare to the otterbox?
I just don't want the built in screen protector of the defender and worry there will be a gap if i cut it out.
Anyone had both before?Last edited by ColonelSanderrs; 07-10-2012 at 07:25 PM.

Re: Seidio convert or Otterbox defender
I had a Seidio Surface with my TBolt and had no issues with it plus it is very thin. Many of the guys i work with ( we are firefighters ) have the otterbox both commuter and defenders. They seem to be removing the otterbox regularly to either use their phone comfortably or clean the case or the phone. I have the Seidio Surface on my S3 now and I was waiting for the Convert add-on to be available, most of the guys have seen the video of the Convert combo and are waiting to see mine and will get rid of their Otterboxes if it's as nice as what the video's show... Just my two cents

I almost bought an otterbox commuter from eBay. Thanks for the info about them. Great cases but I don't want my paper thin device to feel like a ream of paper @

Re: Seidio convert or Otterbox defender
So the Seidio convert is 3 layers??? The surface, soft silicone/rubber and the skeleton?? If so, man...thats gotta be some BULKY *** CASE, lol!!

If you're looking for a holster case check out the one sprint has, I got it for my white Verizon and the carbon fiber (fake) looks pretty nice and it provides great protection while looking better than the otterbox

Re: Seidio convert or Otterbox defender
I got the Insipio case that is a soft silicone inner shell and a harder plastic on the outside that gives it a two-tone appearance. It doesn't add any bulk to the phone and it protects really well.

Re: Seidio convert or Otterbox defender
I am still waiting out for the Otterbox Defender case! It has everything that I want. Maybe we will see it soon enough? I hope so!

Re: Seidio convert or Otterbox defender
It's not the sort of thing I would use everyday. But I could see myself using just the surface case Sunday-Friday and only putting the "Convert" outer layers on for Saturday when I need more rugged protection for my phone. I am seriously considering the Convert Combo myself, but since I have ~20 days till I'm eligible for upgrade I'll decide then.

Re: Seidio convert or Otterbox defender
The Seidio Surface/Convert combo is 2.5mm thick, according to the Seidio website. I think that is thinner than the Otterbox. The Seidio is also easier remove from the Convert add-on which is good for when you don't need the extra protection and just want a nice case and holster to go out in

I have had both otterbox and seidio. The seidio is my preferance. Three cases and a seperate screen protector. The silicone is held on very nicely with the otter skeleton. The silicone doesnt get as gooey as the otterbox either. I will only buy the seidio from now on.
