I want to like the auto-brightness setting -- seems to react appropriately to whatever light conditions I'm in, except the screen is always just a little dimmer than I would like. Apparently it was designed for 20-something eyes rather than 40-something ones. I know I can install Lux & manually adjust to my liking, but if I could just hack the phone so that auto is always set just a bit brighter than it is out of the box, I wouldn't have to muck with it every time I go inside/outside turn off a light. etc. Anyone know whether there's a way to do this with root (or without). Thanks!!
While I'm at it... anyone know whether there's a setting that will increase the volume of the boot-up sound? I replaced PowerOn.ogg with some P-Funk (deep groovy voice... "Good evening. Do not attempt to adjust your radio, there is nothing wrong. We have taken control as to bring you this special show. We will return it to you as soon as you are grooving.") but the volume is too low.
