The SGS III is my first Samsung phone, so I haven't fully read the process, but it looks like if you are willing to flash your phone they have a rooted stock rom.
I guess Samsung has a counter for flashes so they can keep track of what is done with the phone (or something like that) and the rooted roms will up this counter. Sounds like it could void your warranty is basically what they are saying.
EDIT: Shoot, it doesn't appears to be working just yet.

TriangleAway takes care of the flash counter. So far it looks like they aren't really doing much with the flash counter, but ya, its coming to a point where they are going to start denying warranty claims.
Its frustrating for me though, because I have had my phone replaced like, 7 times in 2 years (not exaggerating) and most have been hardware related. Only software issue was caused by the gingerbread update on my original DINC.
Don't think it right that my hardware warranty is voided for changing software

Will there be a more simple way to root (one-click-root like app)? This would be the first phone I would consider rooting, and some of the stuff in the XDA post look a tad intimidating...

Given the phone isn't even officially "released" for Verizon customers, I'd imagine it is very much possible (over time). This phone will have a large install base, in 4-6 months alone we'll probably see some crazy stuff happen with it!
Give the adb method a shot if you're dying to root and feel froggy, I probably will the second my phone arrives.

I used this method to root my S3 and it was very easy, if I can do I can pretty much bet everyone can.....

I'm sure you all have read it by know, but invisiblek specifically mentioned on his post in the xda-developers forum that his method will not trip the flash counter. So, here's to hoping that's the case.
