Re: [GUIDE]Freezing GS3 Bloat with Titanium Backup!
Thank you very much for the list. I just got my SGS3 yesterday and rooted today. One of the first things I always look for after rooting is a list such as this. I just so happen not to use anything on the list so glad to have them out of service so that it saves battery and memory. Again, many thanks for this list!

Just a heads up: if you use a Bluetooth headset in the car, don't disable s voice. You won't be able to voice dial. Mine tends to crash twice before it works anyway, but ymmv.

Re: [GUIDE]Freezing GS3 Bloat with Titanium Backup!
Bloat is considered anything over the stock Google apps that comes with the phone, or at least in my opinion. The bloat is in there but I also froze other apps that Samsung threw on the device that I know I would never want/use. If you don't want to freeze those you don't have too, your choice. Everyone will use their phone differently and because of that people will want to get rid of or keep certain things.

Re: [GUIDE]Freezing GS3 Bloat with Titanium Backup!
What is "bloat"? Any app you (the user) don't want on your phone.
What's bloat to me may be an essential app to you.
Personally, I'd like to see ROM developers (including VZW developers!) not include ANY app that's available on Google. I'll pick and chose my own, thanks! - 08-19-2012, 02:20 AM #10
Re: [GUIDE]Freezing GS3 Bloat with Titanium Backup!
while im excited to do this im bummed that there is not a 'free' version that will freeze apps. Pay app I guess is worth it for this sorta thing.

If I am not rooted, is disabling the bloat the same as freezing them (rooted)?

Re: [GUIDE]Freezing GS3 Bloat with Titanium Backup!
Thanks for the list.
FWIW, for lists like these, I like to see a complete list of apps that are *safe* to freeze. Therefore, a longer list with apps that some people may want to leave active is fine. If a person wants to use an app, they are free to leave it unfrozen. The important thing is to have a list of apps that are know to not cause system instability when frozen.
Also, just fyi, you can freeze:

Re: [GUIDE]Freezing GS3 Bloat with Titanium Backup!
I am not sure how much Titanium is now a days but I have had it for a while and it is well worth the few pennies it cost.
I remember seeing a cartoon a while back, some guy was buying a cup of coffee at for $5.50, a few gallons of gas for $20, and a few other small wasteful purchases for a few dollars but then later in the day he was sweating bullets over paying 99 cents for some app. I guess we are so used to free, a few bucks seems like a fortune. - 09-29-2012, 02:02 PM #18

Re: [GUIDE]Freezing GS3 Bloat with Titanium Backup!
Hi, I think that I've frozen wrong apps in my Samsung GS3. As the result, I can't access any application.
My home screen is totally black, but all of other functions (incoming call or msg, wifi setting, etc) are still working well.
How do I fix this up? I could't find the way to launch my Titanium Backup too.
Many thx before.. - 11-08-2012, 08:02 AM

Thanks, I will add these to the list. Been without cable because of Hurricane Sandy and just getting caught up on everything now. Thanks for the update!
Did you freeze the launcher? Is there a way you can provide us with a list of what you froze or disabled?

Re: [GUIDE]Freezing GS3 Bloat with Titanium Backup!
I got my galaxy note 2 a few days ago and found this list on here. I went though and disabled (not uninstalled) a lot of the bloatware apps and other apps listed here which I felt I would never use and did not need. For the first few days, when bringing my phone to campus, it would automatically connect to the att wifi signal in most buildings, which was nice cause then I wouldn't worry about using data. After disabling a bunch of apss, I went to campus, and it still automatically connected, but now it wants me to sign in and pay to use the att wifi. I know that the wifi is meant to be free for AT&T smartphone users, so I know that it wasn't a trial or anything.
One of the apps I disabled must have lost my phones ability to connect with att wifi and inform the network that I have an att smartphone. Any ideas as to what the app could be??
Thanks!!! - 02-09-2013, 10:11 AM #22

Re: [GUIDE]Freezing GS3 Bloat with Titanium Backup!
Awesome. Titanium backup really is worth the money. I just went through and froze all the unnecessary apps in my system. It seems to be running smoother already. Also, I use Nova launcher prime. I disabled touchwiz home in titanium, it seems to run even smoother. I figured the two launchers didn't need to be fighting eachother everytime I hit the home button. Or is this a bad idea?

Re: [GUIDE]Freezing GS3 Bloat with Titanium Backup!
Yeah it seems to run a little smoother now. Especially when I press the home button. I'm getting ready to flash slim Rom now so it's kinda moot... We'll see how my first custom ROM goes. Fingers crossed..
