Froze some of the bloatware and backed up all my apps with Titanium Backup. My device runs great not going to mess with custom roms (yet).

I just froze vzw bloatware/apps that I dont use that are safe to freeze using Titanium Backup Pro
Silenced my camera :
using Root Exployer: system>media>audio>ui> changing Shutter.ogg to Shutter.ogg.bak,,, and changing Shutter_multiple.ogg to Shutter_multiple.ogg to Shutter_multiple.ogg.bak
I havent yet flashed a custom Rom holding off on that for now on the S3

Edit update:

[MOD] 15 Toggle Mod in blue for the VZW S3 :)

The 2 methods I used to disable the Wifi pestering were:

SQLite (needs root) - forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1770622

AnyCut - http://www.everythingkmc.com/showthread.php?t=15596

Use both.

You can also just flash Synergy because everything (besides the AnyCut trick) is cooked into the ROM ;)

And I'll plug Bean's ROM, very easy to set up and it gives you 50GB of dropbox access to boot

1. Root the device using any method you desire (I went with the Windows app that does it for you, took me about a minute)

2. Install EZ-Recovery and flash the CWM 6.0.1.0 recovery (this is important, it MUST be the 6.0.1.0)

3. Download Bean's ROM (I found the link at XDA)

4. Boot into recovery and wipe your data/cache/davlik cache and format the system

5. install the Zip

6. Profit

I've only avoided Bean's because the volume of issues in the official thread seem rather copious. Don't get me wrong, Synergy is not perfect. In fact I'm still waffling between it and stock.

Hmm bean isn't perfect as well but I really wanted the 50gb in dropbox

Might switch over to synergy if the phone fails testing this weekend while on bean

It's been decent all day with just a couple small glitches

Installed Light Flow

Installed the (missing) wifi notification panel widget and changed the Samsung green hilights/battery icon to ICS blue.

Installed Nova launcher (don't need root for that, but to get widgets to show up in the app drawer you do).

Nothing to hard core, made a complete backup, removed the WiFi ongoing notification, and flashed a simple .zip giving a WiFi toggle and changing the toggles and battery to blue.

I came back to stock, the battery life on synergy wasn't very impressive (could be an issue caused by TiBU).

Supposedly, once you create a dropbox account on Bean's, you can use it from any ROM for the next 2 years :)
