Yeah, definitely make sure you flash the stock kernel to. The kernel that comes with it is not that great on battery. They talked about it for 3 days.

Thinking about doing this but have never flashed a kernal before. Looking at the OP on XDA but don't see where they have the stock kernal. Any advice? I'm relatively new at this. Should I not do it? Running CM10 M2 right now. Just want something stable with excellent battery life. thanks man

It is down toward the bottom of the op. You will see the modem/rpm and stock kernel:thumbup:

Thanks again. Is flashing a kernel as easy as flashing a rom? Really really don't want to brick my phone

Yep its lean kernel. But the stock one plays better. They were having some glitches with it.

Its easy. Just tap the download link (right on your phone) it will download then just go into recovery find the download and flash it. You don't wipe anything. Then reboot.

Last dumb question, I promise. If I decide to switch to another rom, will I need to reflash the stock kernal, or is the stock stock kernal?

A kernel always comes with a ROM however with this ROM we were talking about they decided to package a different kernel with it. So we basically decided to flash then old kernel that would've came with the rom

It had the stock kernel up till the release of build 5. They put lean kernel in build 5. But quickly after build 5 started being used there was problems and he put the link back up for the stock kernel. Believe me I used the lean kernel and when I switched back to stock battery life has been amazing and I haven't seen any glitches.

Sweet! I thought you would like the battery life...it will get a little better to. Like the third day I couldn't believe it. I had 4 hours on screen and 1 day 1 hour on battery. Freaking awesome.

Been following this convo for a few days now. So are you good gents using a kernel from build 5 but using cm10 ro achieve this kind of battery life? Or are you just straight up using build 5?
