cm10 questions?
I'm rooted and unlocked. And running synergy right now. On thinking about using Cm 10 but I wanted to know what wasn't working on that Rom. Does google Wallet work? If so are there any special steps to installing it?
Thanks in advance - 08-24-2012, 03:30 PM #2

NFC is the only thing I see not working. I haven't had any reboots and it's been rich solid and fast for me. Battery life is amazing as well...

Re: cm10 questions?
I am on the 8/16 KANG build of the unofficial CM10 and I have "not" made the switch to the nightly builds. I have not had a single issue on the 8/16 KANG...not 1. I would recommend staying away from the nightlies and giving the 8/16 a go. It's hands down the smoothest and most user friendly ROM I have ever used. I also get on average 12 hours of daily HEAVY usage out of my battery...easily 20+ on light usage for example the weekends.

Re: cm10 questions?
thanks for all the input...... I used to be a crack flasher with my OG Droid but I have slowed down with all the locked bootloaders. Now that I have used all but $0.05 on my Google Wallet prepaid card I may start with the 8/16 KANG build.
Again, thanks for all the help - 08-25-2012, 08:15 PM #8
Re: cm10 questions?
I agree, I do have some problems though with figuring out how to play music through external speakers on the ibolt dock, is it not programmed for this? I also get a blank screen once in a while and it freezes too, no response and only fix is batt pull, and with volume control plus, the notification and ringer do not separate when trying to adjust the volume for one of them

It's ok. I ran it for a day and restored back to ICS. The coolest parts are Google Now and the new Notifications but they aren't make-or-break. The hassle wasn't worth the experience IMO. I kept losing 3g regularly, so that wasn't fun.

Re: cm10 questions?
I flashed 8/25 CM10 nightly while on a long road trip with the family and i needed something to distract me. It's definitely slick. Very fast "feel" to JB and the menus look great. Great set of features like the profile system. Loved being able to switch to "home" or "work" and have all the presets I wanted. There were some issues though - my battery life was awful. I was experiencing big time drain during sleep and my usual apps seemed to cause more drain than I was used to. NFL Mobile which is a must for me this time of year does not work. I tried every fix i could find and could not get it going. I had CM10 for approx 5 days.
Switched over to Synergy and have had no issues. Battery life is fantastic, i get no drain during deep sleep, and my NFL Mobile works. It also has a fast feel to it as they added JB animations although you can still tell it is ICS. I'd give Synergy or CleanROM a try until these JB ROMS are more optimized. Should only be another month or so. - 09-01-2012, 10:12 AM #11
Re: cm10 questions?
What we need to remember here is that CM10 is in very early stages. There are going to be bugs and there are going to be features that are not included in the ROM for stability purposes. I have been going back and forth between ICS ROMs and CM10 and I have to say that CM10 is getting there slowly but surely. I will always recommend that someone stick with an ICS/TW based ROM for the time being until CM gets an RC out if they need to use their phone work or any other purposes that require no faults what so ever.
That being said, the reason that we are experience so many bugs is because CM10 is because we are going from ICS to Jelly Bean. Personally myself, I had Jelly Bean on my Galaxy Nexus the day that it came out and I have been in love with it since. While on the Galaxy S3 I have been on and off of it because of the bugs but most of the time I do not experience any major bugs that hinder the overall experience. I have had no data dropping issues, battery life isn't great but it's not terrible either (used interactive gov and noop scheduler) and it ran and smooth as butter for me.
You will get a lot of bugs if you do not flash properly as well. Always make sure you do a proper flash when going from an ICS based ROM to Jelly Bean based ROM.

Re: cm10 questions?
Can someone please post some screenshots of CM10?
Is it basically a stock JB with extra settings?
It may sound silly but the only reason I'm not getting Galaxy s3 for myself (my wife has one) is because i hate how the menu button is on the opposite side from Nexus 7, which i do have. It's a very bad usability issue when you have both devices.
What happens to the Back and Menu button in CM10?

Re: cm10 questions?
I'm aware of that, as i said my wife has one. And that's my problem with this phone, it's backwards from the last 2 Nexus devices. Muscle memory will be screwing me up since i have nexus 7.
That's why i was wondering what happens to those buttons in CM10. The home button is fine (and you can't hide it anyway) but the Back and Menu buttons are not lit up by default so maybe there's a way to disable them and use the on-screen ones.
I don't get why Google can't at least enforce the basic button configuration on Android manufacturers.
