Whenever I do a CWM backup to my ext SD card it takes a very long time...about 30 minutes. If I backup to the internal SD card it goes much faster like I am used to with other Android devices.

I have tried re-formatting the card (using the phone) and the card tests at about 8.5MB/s write speed and 20.5MB/s read speed so it is not the SD card. I also tried a different micro SD and same results.

Is this long backup time normal for the S3?

Mine also takes quite a while, but then again, I have the 32 gig, and I only have about a gig free.. I've never backed it up to the internal however

I only have a 16 GB card with about 5 GB free. My last backup with CWM took just under an hour.

I am going to try to restore one of these backups just to make sure it works. I never had an Android device where CWM backups took more than about 10 minutes.
