Newbie Rooter: Do old rooting methods on OSX work with 4.1.1 phones?
Hello All,
I'm new to Android rooting (but am an experienced iOS jailbreaker).
I got a Samsung Galaxy S3 (Verizon) yesterday which got the over-the-air update to 4.1.1. (Jelly Bean).
I'm a Mac user and found this guide to rooting the S3 on OSX: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
Will this method work for a phone with 4.1.1 installed on it? if not, is there another method that will? Thanks!

That's the method I used prior to the JB update on Ics. Then I just flashed clean rom so I had rooted JB. Right now I doubt it will still work but I'm sure someone is working on it.

You'd have to try it yourself or keep your eyes on dev boards.
You can Odin to stock/rooted ICS, backup root with VooDoo's OTA Root Keeper from the Play Store, backup root, take the OTA, than restore root.
Galaxy S3 - Thanks Appreciated!
