    Default Hide root from flixster

So as you may know flixster wont allow you to stream your ultraviolet copies when your rooted. Are there any apps that successfully hide root on the GS3? Only one that looks promising is rootkeeper but I am a little scared to try it. Are there any chances of screwing anything up by using it and does it actually work? Thanks.

I do not use this app, so I may not be helpful. But I was thinking what if you just permanently denied the Flixster app root permissions using SuperSU or Superuser?

Not sure how to do that. Only apps I can see in my su app are root apps.

If you're using supersu in the settings is a check box that disables and hides the app. Worth a shot.

Yeah I'm pretty sure root keeper doesn't work with Samsung. I'm not even going to try it. Oh well...

After temp uprooting, reboot your device and see if that makes a difference. Back when I had a Kindle Fire, I had to reboot after temp uprooting to watch videos on Amazon Prime.

I've never even heard of this. The question is, how does the app determine if you are rooted? (Figuring that out would be the first step to figuring out how to fool it otherwise).

Can I assume that the reason they won't let you stream the videos on a rooted devices is because you could permanently copy the video from a temp file somewhere?

Just a shot in the dark here, but did you pose this question over at XDA? Nothing against Android Central, but XDA is a probably a better place to get an answer to a question this technical in nature.

I did some testing around on my GS4G, and found that the app searches for if the su binary is present (installed when rooting)

Soooo, again, after a frolic through the internet, I came across this beaut. HMR

In the app, it has the option to 'hide' the su binary (aka move it elsewhere) and then replace.

    Tata!! Shazam!! Kaboom!!! Enjoy!

Tytyty for this! This also worked for my Hulu Plus as well! I've been using an old Hulu apk since latest versions check for root as well. Thank you again.

Or if you're not sure about some random zip file out on the web you can try Voodoo OTA RootKeeper: http://market.android.com/details?id....otarootkeeper
