So I've used the method here.

I can boot into custom recovery but when I flash the Root and Bootloader Unlock file (either the combined file or the individual files) the installation fails.

The error I am receiving in recovery is Esignature cannot be validated. Then the process aborts.

    Any thoughts?

This is the method that I used. My phone was running 4.1.1 OTA at the time.

I think the stock recovery is overwriting the custom recovery. It wasn't clear to me that after the battery pull I should not let the phone reboot before booting into recovery. I'm going to try that tonight and if that doesn't work I'll try this method.

Ops sorry have to pay more attention. Yea when flashing recovery make sure you uncheck auto reboot, then after you flash pull the battery and boot into recovery.

Ok I've solved this. I didn't uncheck auto reboot so I now have root.

    Thanks for the replies.

I'm getting the same problem. Are you saying the auto reboot in Odin? I've unchecked when loading CMW Touch Recovery and I can boot to recovery without an issue, just won't load Root (SU) or Bootloader unlock files. Can you provide more description on how you fixed?
    Thanks,
    Bill

Repeated the whole process for the third time and everything loaded this time. Not sure what I did different, but now have root.
