Android 4.2.2 ?????? Not Working?????

Need help I'm rooted running 4.1.2 build no# VRBMA2 got from XDA Developers everythings working great.
Trying to download latest 4.2.2 rom from XDA, Carbon I think, but everytime I try to download zip to my phone from my laptop get message asking if I want to download files with media with it??? I agree then download stops says device has disconnected??? Also try downloading same file but this time I say no to media file and it saves to my SD card on phone. Boot into recovery and install zip from SD card then GAPPS then reboot. But all I get is a multi-colored X symbol in middle of screen and thats it???? Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

That's odd. I'm actually on that exact rom right now. No issues at all. I'd say download goo manager from the play store and just do it from your phone.
