Does anyone know what Verizon's pre-order cancellation policy is? I want to get a pre-order in just in case Verizon tries to pull grandfathered unlimited data before the S3 is available in stores.

Assuming it hasn't shipped, you should be able to cancel. My mom pre-ordered an iPhone 4S which was backordered forever and I was able to cancel it and buy one in store.

I'm thinking the same thing. I have cancelled pre-orders before so you should be ok if you change your mind.

I ordered the white 16gb because it looks like most people are going with 32gb. I want the best chance to get on the first wave of shipments.

Here is a quote from chatting with an online rep about pre-order policies: "You can cancel at anytime, and if you have received the phone already, you would have 14 days to cancel after that"

You don't get charged until you receive your phone and activate it. Pre-ordering will lock you in to keeping your unlimited data, and will give you a month to change your mind... in case the Razr HD or something else is announced by then.

My total due is 105.99 because of the upgrade fee. O also got a message saying that I don't get an employee discount on the
Pre order. I'm a manger at jcp and we don't get discounts on phones. Just service and accessories.

Excellent. This is exactly my thinking. I am worried with going through Best Buy they would not be able to guarantee my unlimited data. The 30 day return policy is extremely tempting. That would give people out to the end of July to compare to the RAZR HD.

I went ahead and pre-ordered a 16GB Blue model from Verizon. Figure we should hear something about the RAZR HD by mid-July to make a decision.

I sure would like to at least hear what the details are about the family-share data plans before I lose my window to make changes. (The Mrs. is getting even more antsy about still using a feature phone when there will be two smartphones sitting in the drawer unused.)

Have to re-order so I can keep my options open, but it would be nice if they would just state what their family-share plans are.

I'm just repeating what the online rep said. She specifically said your card gets charged when you receive your phone and activate it. But, I believe you would get charged once it's shipped. Otherwise you could receive the phone, not activate it for a month, and never get charged.

I woke up at 4am my time (7a eastern )and placed my order for 16g blue...not bad as it sounds i wake up at 5am as it is ....my second line that i ordered it on is not unlimited but ill be swapping sims to my primary line that is unlimited ...i was also told ship by 7-9 but the rep said she thinks it will ship sooner

So many people ordering 32gb! You do realize you can get 64gb SD cards for 50 bucks, right?
32gb for 250
or 16gb phone+64gb SD card for 250

Pretty obvious choice, imho.
