Re: Anger does not even begin to convey my feelings
But I only get to pick out a new one every two years! It's "but a phone" that I have been waiting for since I got disappointed with my last one, which happened like a year and a half ago...
In other on-topic news: Do you have to call to get a status update on the order? I actually ended up cancelling my first preorder to "up" it to the 32gb version and now I have a slew of confusing emails AND texts about cancellations. - 06-25-2012, 09:53 AM #29
Re: Anger does not even begin to convey my feelings
Look I'm glad none of you are in any hurry for the phone that just about every person in the world can buy, except us poor souls on Verizon. Just make sure to let them know that you are ok with everybody else's being shipped before yours, because you are in no rush. The reason most people are anxious and wondering is because Verizon keeps using the word "by" and not "on" in their wording. They left some doubt about when it would ship. Also since nobody has any real known reason for the 3 week delay from all the other carriers there is a chance they would come out early. The delays in supply for the other carriers will just about be resolved this week. People who just ordered their S3 on AT&T are getting theirs shipped the next day. Verizons main way of dealing with these delays is to say nothing, see Thunderbolt and Gnex for example. If Verizon just Intends to ship on 7/9 and up then the page should say ships ON 7/9. Also just to shut us all up they could give us a reason why the biggest and best carrier in the US is last to ship the newest phone. If they don't have them yet, that's fine, if they are still testing why not let us know. It always looks bad for them when it seems there maybe like 2 people in the entire company that know whats going on. Let the reps know what to tell us and maybe the thousands of us on here every day looking for a little info would calm down.

Re: Anger does not even begin to convey my feelings
...I think i am the most desperate person for the SG3 on this forum...Because for the past 2 months, my crappy LG Dare's touch screen has been going whack, so it was a hassle just to even navigate around the phone... And then a month ago, it got so bad, that it wouldn't even click CLOSE to wear i was touching... and then it just shut off, and never turned on. So i have gone without a phone for a month, and ive been using my iPod for free wifi-texting and such. I NEED IT NOOWW...

This entire site is nothing but First World problems. That's a given. Nobody ever said it was life threatening.

Re: Anger does not even begin to convey my feelings
I do agree it would be a miracle if somehow the phone came out early. My point is that because of that little word "by" they opened the door for everyone to speculate. 3 weeks is a long time to listen to everyone else rave or complain about what should be the exact same phone. Hell, some people on this site will already be sick of theirs and ready to move on before we get ours. Obviously, even the people saying they are ok waiting, are still coming to read about a phone they don't have again and again. This isn't like the first galaxys, where each one was different. These are the exact same phones with slightly different firmware for each networks bandwidth. Some of us are just wondering why ours is coming almost a month after everyone else's, that's all.

Re: Anger does not even begin to convey my feelings
Nah, they all seem equally impossible.
Do me favor, don't be such a ******. A lot of us on here are just venting a little. You taking things out of context and leaving rude comments, seems a little childish to me. Besides, your 800 comments posted show you are into this site. You should know that 3 weeks is a long time in this area of interest. Thats half way to the next big thing being released. I'm well aware that we are talking about phones, There is no need for you to get all sci-fi on us and bring religion into it....when you're 4 years old.
Grow up and wait for something for a change.

Suntan,
I saw the humor in what you said...so EL Oh EL and all that stuff.
Now, onto more waiting... - 06-25-2012, 03:04 PM #41
Re: Anger does not even begin to convey my feelings
I wasn't the one that equated a phone coming before a set date to a religious event. You did. Or do you think that miracles happen outside of religion?
At the same time, recognize when someone is just yanking your chain and lighten up.
Yeah, we all want our new gadgets. But going on about how you feel put out because a company used the word “by” in a way you find ambiguous is silly.

Re: Anger does not even begin to convey my feelings
I see 2 different views here. Some people think the by 7/9 means anytime up to and including that date. Others see it as meaning shipping on 7/9. I never said I was put out by it. I just wish we knew why it was after everyone else and if thats definitely when its going to ship. This particular sub forum seemed to be created to mock those who think that "by" means up to and including. I guess I felt like defending that position. I wasn't ranting or threatening to leave Verizon like some others on this site. I was just saying what I thought Verizon could do to smooth out their phone launches. Mainly just asking for a little clearer info. Suntan, If you were just busting chops thats fine, but insinuating that I was 4 and telling me to grow up, rubbed me the wrong way. As far as miracles, I wasnt even the one that brought it up. joebob2000 mentioned them, in mocking any chance we had of Verizon shipping early. But hey this has been fun and passed one more day of waiting.

Re: Anger does not even begin to convey my feelings
Okay, so Verizon left open the possibility that the phones could ship early, but you realize that isn't likely to happen, and that's a problem? I don't see why everyone is upset they said "by" rather than "on", as "on" would just be confirmation that there is no chance of you getting it early. Is the slight chance of a surprise that stressful?
Don't worry, I'm not taking offense at what you said or singling anyone out, I'm just giving my interpretation, as I see no reason for complaint here. If you think you won't be happy with the phone, you shouldn't have ordered it, and its not too late to cancel. Any other phone that you can upgrade to without losing your data is already available, and everything else isn't available yet and won't be for awhile. So I don't see what other phone every Verizon customer could see as "better" at this point.
And if someone is ready to move on from the phone of the year after 3 weeks, I wouldn't put much stock in their opinion.
