Expected ship date went from nothing to 7/9/12 for me, Tuesday morning. I still obsessively check this site every morning and evening.

I talked to a Verzion Rep on that online chat thing. I asked her when the phone would get here, since I have a shipping date of 07/10/12.

She said I would get the phone on the day of the 10th, and that's what I'm hoping for.

I was just thinking how it's funny that verizon is blaming samsung yet sprint is now shipping 32 gb versions beginning today

Yea, my pre-order status changed from unknown to Expected ship date of July 11th, just as it said when I placed the order last Friday.

Come on 2 weeks, be gone. ;-)

I'm glad that we are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel finally. Mine changed to the 10th as the ship date. Should be in my hands by the 12th correct?

And this S3 release has completely blown out anyone caring about the Incredible 4G potentially releasing July 5th! HTC has got to be a bit disappointed on the timing of the S3 release and Verizon plan changes going into effect on June 28th causing people to pre-order the S3 to lock in unlimited data. Can't wait until the 9th!

If HTC really cared they would have made a phone worth waiting for .... I love my og Dinc however the 4g is not a power house by any means and I don't think that the phone would have gotten this kind of ( or any kind of ) hype.

Agreed. Not to mention the s3 completely blows the dinc 4g out of the water in specs (even though they have the same processor) for the EXACT SAME PRICE. Its a no brainer to me.

One has to wonder if there is a different reason for Verizon having the S3 later than some of the other (even smaller) USA carriers.

Think about it for a minute. All the big and not so big USA carriers wanted the S3 at the same time. IIRC this this the first time that has happened with the same model phone. Samsung obviously only has so much production capacity for the S3. One has to wonder if certain carriers committed to certain purchase volumes of the S3 at certain prices in exchange for giving Samsung additional time to fill their S3 orders.

In other threads people have thought that Verizon's somewhat delayed availability of the S3 is due to Verizon loading their software/bloat on the S3 and testing it. What if the delay in S3 availability is really Verizon cutting Samsung a break on production due dates in exchange for a lower price and/or higher number of S3 units for Verizon?

Hmmmmm. I guess Verizon and Samsung are the only ones that know what the real deal is with Verizon being about 2 weeks late to the S3 party.

I don't know about that. The Inc will still be the #1 choice for people that want a smaller phone.

Yeah it's losing a lot of marketing wind in the tech blog-o-sphere, but when all the new family plan customers come in and relize it now only costs $10 to upgrade from their feature phone to a true smartphone. They will likely start looking at some of these monster phones and ask the rep, "show me the smaller smartphones."

At that point, the rep will show them the iphone 4 and the Inc. And I think the Inc will stand up well in that comparision.

Heck, the Inc would be what I would suggest my wife upgrade to... ...If I weren't stealing her upgrade to get my GSIII.

I dont think I wouldnt want a phone any bigger then the S3 personally.

Im just glad tho we know when the shipping date(s) are for vzw,whatever the reasoning behind vzw's delayed launch was .

I live in alpharetta ga and verizon has a HQ here. so I have a bunch of them come into my store. I asked a group of them when my phone was coming in. They said they wouldn't give me a date but that verizon was about to announce something special real soon. So once again who knows but I just thought I'd share

Highly unlikely as google hasn't even made it available yet and it would take longer than 2 week for Samsung to incorporate touchwiz and Verizon to test it.

Agreed. Since the original date was announced, it appeared to be nothing more than Verizon setting that date for their own good. I'm sure they didn't like accepting Samsung's requirements for design/look/feel/branding/etc, and figure that the only control they had over the situation was timing for release. In the end, I'm sure it boils down to:

Shared Data Plan timing.
Loss of Unlimited Data timing.
Other phones being released before July 10th. (there may even be agreements in place from other handset manufacturers as to giving other phones a guaranteed initial sale window before this phone is released).

As for the pre-orders, I feel they only did that so that they can go ahead and secure those of us that want the phone, so that we didn't get impatient and possibly go to another carrier.
