I just heard from a friend that works for the mobile store inside Target that the 16GB (The only one they are selling) version will be in on Monday for those that preordered. He said that Verizon will begin shipping theirs on July 4th.........if we're lucky.

Verizon is selling both, but apparently Radioshack is only selling the 16GB version.

I went to pester the reps at the local VZW store yesterday. They told me that the GS3 sales propaganda arrived earlier in the week but they were still in the dark about an actual launch date. They all suspected it to be in stores on the 12th.

In mid - July.. on Friday the 13th *Anyone* will be able to walk in a VZW store at 10 a.m. and get one. Pre - Orders will ring your doorbell on July 12th.

For what it's worth (not much), I stopped in my local Corporate Verizon Store tonight and they said working demo will be out on Thursday 7/5 and phones available for purchase on Friday 7/6 (if they get any). So, it's still anyone's guess.

I stopped in a TMobile store today and they had some in the back but could not sell them until tomorrow (7/1). But, no working demos.

I preordered so doesn't matter much. Just want to try one out.

Agreed. How about we just let VZW tell us when they will ship and stop this "well I heard from this person.." or "I'm buddies with the VZW rep and he/she told me this date"

I work for Verizon Wire line (copper and fios). I asked an area sales rep "where's my sgiii?" Yesterday. His response:

"We never know until the uppers don't mind it leaking out and I don't know yet"

So I seriously doubt anyone who's not sitting in a very plush office knows yet

I suppose that so many people have ruined it for others that when someone does have info, it can't be trusted. I'm not saying he's right, but he did say that they'd ship on the 4th (and yes I forgot it was a holiday). Let's be optimistic instead of pessimistic. We all want the phone right?!

Of course we all want it - but damn.....all these freakin' dates....they'll ship when they ship. If it's before the "by" date of July 9th, then icing on the cake.

Your friend gave a date that is a holiday on supposedly the "only version" they sell, when neither VZW has announced anything nor is limited to just one GB version of the phone - so you can see how erroneous that looks. Your friend has no more authority than someone else posting and saying a date. We only want to hear out of the horses mouth and VZW has not made a peep. VZW DID say they will ship by the 9th. So leave it be.. If it gets here before the 9th, awesome. If it gets here on the 9th, cool. If it gets here on the 12th, well, it is what it is. If it gets here any day after that, kittens will die.

Edit: Its not a matter of being pessimistic or optimistic. Its being REALISTIC.

I heard from my friend who is Verizon's wtfc that it will ship sometime this year, the bloatwear machine broke down. They figure it won't be able to sell like the iphone so they said bucket.

I went to my local best buy and the rep said he had them in stock (for pre-orders) but could not sell them or show them until Verizon gave the 'go ahead'. I then went to an ATT store, Tmobile and Verizon (all at the same mall). The ATT guy did not know the date, Tmobile had a working demo and accessories (the phone is nice, im glad I ordered the white). The verizon rep was emphatic in saying the phone will be in stores on July 9th. I asked him several times and he said you can walk in the store and buy on the 9th. This was in Salinas, CA....fwiw

I sort of did the same today ....except the verizon manager was very optimistic that an official launch will have to come soon since they will be launching the HTCdinc 4g....all while hanging the propaganda for sg3. Also that only certain stores while be stocking amounts and models, depending on location of that store, makes sense. This also fueled my belief that certain folks that have the corporate e-mail know more but just can't say.
