Today I picked up a Galaxy S3, on the top of the screen it shows 4G. When I run the speedtest.net app with WiFi turned off, I am getting roughly 15Mbps to about 26Mbps. So does that mean we have 4G in my area?

The reason I ask is I searched on it a bit last night it it said my area wasn't getting 4G from VZW till around the end of 2013. As far as I know the closest place that has 4G at all is an hour from here.

So could we have it here and no one told us... or could the speedtest.net app be goofed.

Verizon could be testing in your area since you are close to getting it. One day it could just go away until it's released.

You are certainly getting 4G speeds. I am usually around 12-15mbp but we have had it here since verizon launched it and it's a pretty saturated market.

if it shows 4G on top and you are pulling those numbers you have 4G my friend. If you had 3G it would say 3G and your numbers would be around 1Mbps download
