Anyone taking theirs back?
I've had my phone exactly a week now, and I'm just not blown away by the S3. I'm coming from the HTC Dinc2, so it's a totally different experience (which I've enjoyed), but there's just nothing that makes me want to keep it like I thought I would.
So, what's the deal with Big Red? What's it going to cost me to take it back? Will I receive a refund for my $30 "upgrade fee"? And will they try and ding me with some kind of" restocking fee"?
Thoughts? - 07-14-2012, 01:04 AM #2

My camera is weird, takes some really awful shots unless people are absolutely still - 07-14-2012, 02:08 AM #4

I sold mine already. Might be something to think about.

Re: Anyone taking theirs back?
I left Verizon for AT&T.. But I had a chance to sit at a desk and play with the S3 and the Galaxy Note fresh out of their boxes for 10 mins.....
I chose the Galaxy Note. - 07-14-2012, 10:07 AM #7
Re: Anyone taking theirs back?
Took mine back and had Verizon issue me a 35 dollar credit to my account.
I too did not think the phone was all that. There are lots of negatives on that phone which are hard to ignore. In about a week, the Galaxy will be just another phone. My stores in town have boat loads of them in stock. No one is breaking down their doors to buy them. - 07-14-2012, 10:35 AM #8

I kind of hate mine. It has been better since I.download Swype, but the are some things I can't ignore. Like my WiFi radio sucks. The signal goes in and out constantly while connected at home. Good thing I have unlimited data still.
Seriously thinking of going to the unsub gnex for 150 more. I don't Verizon will let me keep unlimited if I go for something else.

Re: Anyone taking theirs back?
I returned mine yesterday that I had since the 9th. My s3 was awful in signal quality from day one (Dropped calls, sputtering voices, data drops). After calling tech support I was told to go into the store and try a sim swap which I done but it did not fix the problem. Finally after receiving numerous calls with sputtering voices on the other end I'd had enough, went into the store and swapped my s3 out for another s3. The new s3 has been performing flawlessly in areas the old s3 was a nightmare. I'd rate it as good as or better than my rezound in signal quality. I did have to pay a 35 restocking fee in the end but thinking about calling Verizon and trying too get it credited back to my acct.

Re: Anyone taking theirs back?
Mine will be going back due to dropped calls. I actually use my as a phone, and dropping calls is a big no no for me. Back to my Razr I suppose... Love the phone though, just wish the signal was better.

Re: Anyone taking theirs back?
Not going to happen, I will say this is one of the best android phones to date!!!

You can keep unlimited so long as you don't buy a subsidized phone with a 2 year contract. However, the unlocked unlocked gnex won't work for Verizon.
With regards to your wifi problem, one thing to consider is your router. I was having weak wifi signal, changed the router and it fixed my problem. - 07-14-2012, 01:46 PM #19
Re: Anyone taking theirs back?
Only to exchange the 16gb for a 32gb version. I think it's an awesome device.

Re: Anyone taking theirs back?
I am keeping mine for now even though I have run into a couple of things I don't like. My WiFi connection drops and reconnects intermittently and the lack of brightness on the screen is really annoying. It is slightly brighter than the GNex but still less than half as bright as the Maxx. My signal strength and call quality has been better than my Maxx and it works much better with my Bluetooth Carkit than the Maxx and GNex did, so I will need to keep this for that reason alone.

Re: Anyone taking theirs back?
I've had my S3 since Tuesday, I can honestly say that it's the best Android phone I've owned. I started with the original Droid, then the Droid2, I carried the DroidX for a while and had the GNEX last. All of them great phones for their times. But the S3 is the best so far. The GNEX was a great phone but the camera on that one was a real disappointed, I have a couple of Lil ones and I like to have a good camera in my phones for an impromptu pic here and there and the GNEX just fell short. I haven't had a single issue with the S3. My signal strength is better than the GNEX, I don't have a single WiFi issue, no dropped calls, screen is perfect. The only caveat was the Samsung keyboard, nothing SwiftKey couldn't fix. Love the phone.

Okay thanks, I knew 350 was too good to be true. I need to actually read articles and not headlines.
I tried changing the channel and updating the firm ware on my router.
I might replace it this weekend. There are other things going on that make me wonder if it is the router. Maybe I will go somewhere and see if I have the same issue on another network.
