Samsung 3g/4g radio inferior to mot razr

Just got my s3 activated last night. Took a 100 mile trip on the road. I compared my s3 to my wifes mot razr. The razr would hold 4g and 3 g connections much better than the s3. I would say that 1/4 of the time the razr would hold on to 4g or the 3g while the samsung wouldnt. The dbm differences would be anywhere from 5 dbm more to 30 dbm more for the razr. I did not use the signal bar for comparisons and made sure both phones were rexieving the same 3g or 4g signal in the phone status display.

I wonder what is causing the difference because I have been comparing mine with my Maxx for over a week and the SIII has been dead even with my Maxx and even better dbm's in some cases. Call quality is clearer as well. I am in a strong area, but have traveled in rural areas where there is only 3g and I have had the same results. I guess results are going to vary all over the country. I was really expecting the SIII to be much worse than my Maxx but have been completely surprised at the results I have noticed so far. I had already prepared myself that I would be returning the SIII after the first day of testing, but if this keeps up I will be selling my Maxx.

I'm hoping the moto has ics or your testing is pointless.

Me and my wife took a trip today and my gs3 did same or better then my wife's max I'm loving the great service on this phone about time Samsung can match moto.

Funny I was comparing mine to a friend's razr maxx, and we had pretty well the same exact dbm's, and mine was holding a better connection.

Funny... I was comparing a friends gs3 to my photon, side by side, which beat it by 5-30 dbm constantly...
