I have noticed that the volume of ringtone on my phone is almost non-existent on first "ring"(use mp3s as ringtones) but then it BLASTS. Anyone else experiencing this?

I have noticed the first ring is somewhat low, but the second is much louder. Mine doesn't "blast" as you describe so you must have your volume up more than I do.

Mine always starts low for the first half second or whatever.. I think that's pretty normal so it can "ease" you into the ring and not freak you out by starting out blasting you.

Yep mines does this as well. There was a thread on here a while back with alot of people reporting the same thing (forgot the thread title)
