Caught lightning in action...

Driving down the road with my wife at the wheel and we were going through a lightning storm. I think right away, it's time for some burst shot and a little luck. Well... It worked out. Check out the pictures I got.

I took nearly 2000 pictures all in burst. I got about 25 good ones. Here are the best of them.

Simply amazing and its enhanced by what I'm listening to an incremental piece by a band called white chapel the song devoid oh how I love metal!!! And lightning !!!!!

Thanks everyone! Ever since I got my first camera when I was about 12 I have tried to catch lightning on a still shot.

Very cool. I love the camera on this phone it puts the Gnex camera to shame in both pic quality and actual software. Ever since htc came out with the amaze I've wanted a burst mode shooter and finally Samsung has a camera that competes with the i-phones.

Yeah every time I see lightening I try to get a perfect picture of it too. Never have, hopefully with the S3 ill get one!

Very nice. Might have to try this. I've setup my DSLR on interval shooting before and let it sit and barely managed to catch anything. Didn't do 2,000 though. More like 300. So kudos.

I have caught a few bolts during daytime storms using burst mode as well. One set took 3,820 pics to get the money shot. Haven't had a night storm yet to get shots like this. Looking forward to it.

I was wondering in the commercial I saw the g3 take the burst shot and it took 20 photos I can only seem to find the 8 pic burst am I doing something wrong?

all-in-all, when you're trying to catch something like lightning, 25/2000 shots is a GREAT ratio!! I've taken macros pics of flowers, etc. that had only slightly better ratios than that. and flowers don't move quite as quickly as lightning tends to

again, excellent job!!
