Damn you Apple lol I guess it makes no sense to try and refuse the OTA, especially if most of us are waitng for the Stock Jellybean OTA. It sucks when carriers disguise bloatware and the taking away of features as "updates."

Re: Verizon Update: version IMM76D - Have you received?

FWIW, I downloaded Aurora Universal search app from Google Play and it completely restores this function. So stupid to have something I could do back when I was using the Palm Pre removed in the first place! Apple has become such a patent troll.

Yes,universal earch is gone, trying out Power Search anybody know any others?
Try Vtap. It's phenomenal. Once it does its initial indexing it's extremely fast and also puts up a caller favorites screen that's great.

The update pushed onto mine last night... I have noticed no changes. From their ad it didn't seem to do anything unless you're ubhad the error... And that whole trouble shooting thing, guess there's that too.

"Whew!" Scrambled in a panic to root, unlock bootloader, make nandroid, and install TB and Froze SDM.1, I can relax and have a few beers now.

Rooted, stock ROM, received the update but it failed. Did root alone prevent the update?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Funny enough. Never once had the "no sim" error before the update. Got the up date, just got the "no sim"...

It does seem a little quicker, but that could just be my imagination. I've never used the universal search but for some reason, I'm still not happy it's gone.

I'm hoping this update was to get everyone on the same version in prep for the JB update.

Re: Verizon Update: version IMM76D - Have you received?

I got the update yesterday afternoon and noticed no difference in anything (I didn't use the universal search). Same poor 4G signal in marginal area--exact same db readings as before, but I don't think this update addressed anything with the 4G radio anyway.

The update also added remote diagnostics to your phone. Now there is an app that we cant disable unless we root that they can use to remote access your device.

It sounds like more of a "big brother" app knowing Verizon's attitudes towards their customers who root I'd watch out if you are planning on rooting.

Supposedly, according to a rep I spoke with, to use the remote feature we have to agree to it at the point in time VZW wants to use it. Taken with a grain of salt mind you lol. I felt the same way which is why I called in to see if there was an opt out feature for it. Too bad its one of the few items we cant disable in the OS.
