Not possible unless you're on Sprint.

I have read a few threads about Google Wallet being blocked. Without igniting a firestorm, can anyone tell me what would motivate whoever i blocking this app to block it? I am not trolling here, I honestly dont know. Thanks.

    One word - Isis

Isis was founded by AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless. They are creating a product (Isis Mobile Wallet) to compete in this space. It is in their best interest to limit the adoption of Google Wallet while they work on their product.

I think it is just a matter of time before they get a lawsuit or a fine for blocking this. Did they just get slapped with a huge fine for blocking tethering apps?

Yeah, I would assume that the same rules would apply to other apps.

At least they think it is in their best interest. What is going to end up happening in the long run, however, is that people like myself, who don't appreciate being manipulated by companies trying to force them to use their own version of the service, are going to leave them for carriers who are less monopolistic, such as Sprint. For some, it is such a travesty that they would be willing to deal with a less reliable and less powerful network to make their point, which is that they will not stand for manipulation that is intended to benifit the company at the cost of the customers. Sprint is also not forcing people into one of those horrible "share everything" plans either, they still have unlimited data. When I got my Verizon S III, I lost my unlimited plan that I was told would never be taken away from me. Sprint, see you in two years.

By the time it is ready we'll probably be up to the S5.

I would use Google Wallet or any other pay method that comes along for my phone. If Verizon releases something, I'll use it. I can't foresee any practical circumstance that would find me using my N7 to pay for anything just to use GW.

You have to be rooted to use Wallet on the Verizon S3 because it requires you to change your build.prop to show as another device. This can only be done when you are rooted.
