Tomorrow I get my S3, I am coming off a "Charge"....What are must have apps in your opinion....Will my "app to SD" work on the S3? With the S3 running ICS is there an issue with the apps I am running on the Charge? Is it just a matter of testing the Charge apps on the S3 to see if they work?

Thanks,
Jim

You should obviously check out Angry Birds Star Wars and Bad Piggies. Both are free in the Play Store and both are good games.

Your SD backups should translate fine. I haven't had or heard of any major issues.

If you don't have SwiftKey, I would recommend it. Plus the widgets work really good on this phone.

Check out the videos on line to see what this phone can do. Best phone I had so far.

If you're gonna be taking advantage of your front facing camera to make video calls with your friends and family, id download Skype or Tango depending on what your people use.

Two things ive noticed:
Firstly im using Tango to video call with my girlfriend when she's outta the house and very, very rarely do we experience dropped calls. I highly recommend Tango. It's also a blast to use.

Secondly im VERY IMPRESSED with the quality of my S3s front facing camera. It seems to be consistently clearer and of much better quality than those of others I video chat with. Its only a 1.9mp but you wouldn't be able to tell that its not a 5mp. For comparison, my gfs LG front facing camera is a 1.3mp... and performs exactly at that level :-(

First thing? A different keyboard. Swiftkey or, my favorite, Swype. With my daughter in Budapest, Skype is a necessity in our house. It's awesome. A bookreader like Kindle is great. I use it all the time. If you're a math geek, the HP41 emulator go41cx is exceptional. Also MathStudio is worth every penny.

I too switched from a Charge to the S3 the day it came out. I had no problems with any of my apps on the Charge moving to the S3. Well, I did have one issue, but it was the apps problem. I backed up my Trip Master database to my SD card, and when I reinstalled it on my S3 and tried to restore, it wouldn't. I'm having to go back and rebuild everything for almost a year, so I'm not hapy about that. I've now found another app I like better anyway!

Enjoy your S3! I know I sure do!

You don't move your apps to sd because the phone was built so it is not necessary. It's a good thing.

There are no "must have" apps. Anything past what is already on there out of the box is just additional features.
"Phone Info" is helpful to some people who like to toggle their 4G and 3G. Hasn't really helped me much though.
I can't say anything about keyboards since I don't use autocorrect.

I'm a Swype fan myself...but what does your daughter being in Budapest have to do with it being a necessity?!?

Reminds me of the Lewis Black Skit, "If it weren't for my horse, I would never have finished that year in college"

Thanks for all the help...Funny thing I am coming from a Charge.....Glad everything on the Charge works..Is there a reason to have/run "Task Manager" to verify that apps. are closed??

Thanks again,
Jim

If you have an extensive music library (outside of music purchased on Play) the iSyncr app is fantastic for letting you move your iTunes music back and forth to your device....The new wifi sync feature on it is great as well, you don't even have to plug it up to your computer. Unfortunatly I'm married to iTunes because of the large music library I have and the fact that I used two devices (a Blackberry for phone and iPod for music, I know don't hate me I saw the light finally). But this gives me the best of both worlds. It is also great at taking music you've purchased on Amazon and moving it to your iTunes folders. Worth every penny I paid for it.
