Verizon email sync symbol continues to spin after Jelly Bean

I use Verizon email as my default email. After the Jelly Bean upgrade when I open the email program the sync symbol just spins and spins - happens either Wifi or 4g. It does load all of the emails though. Sometimes if I select an email and then back out the sync symbol stops. But once I come out of the program and back in , it continues to spin. I have the sync setting as manual. Calendar and contacts sync properly.

I deleted the account and reloaded same issue. Same with clearing cache.

Any suggestions?

Reboot phone

Turn off Wifi

Launch Verizon Mail.

Turn sync to auto.

Back out

Relaunch.

Hopefully that will work. My phone was acting up once I got the JB update. Everything seems normal now. Good luck!

Thanks. Between your suggestion and period to sync email to 1 month from 1 month or 100 emails did the trick.
