My wife has an S3. She got an email that had some pics in it and they were .jpg files. Never had an issue opening these before, but when you save them it says they are unsupported files. They worked on my iPhone when she forwarded them to me and I couldn't figure out why we had that issue.

Anyone know of why this could be or an app we could download to get it to work? FYI, this was in the stock, not Gmail, app.

I am not sure but it sounds like the mail app does not know what app to use to open the jpg file. Can you open those same files in the Gallery? If yes, try going into settings> applications manager goto the email app and then clear defaults

That's the thing. It makes her save the pics and then tries to open them in the gallery. From there it says they're unsupported files. I'm not sure where the culprit lies. I'll try messing with a few things like clearing the defaults and whatnot in the mail and gallery apps.
