Anyone know if it breaks root? It probably does, but thought I should ask first.
From the article it sounds like it will most likely be about a week before we see anything:
A new update for Verizon’s version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 has been approved as build VRBMB1 (Android 4.1.2). The update improves predictive text in the keyboard, allows users to take pictures while on calls, syncs emails better, and enhances Bluetooth. That’s pretty much it, well, other than some added bloatware.
It’s not Android 4.2 The update is 150.3MB in size.
Typically when Verizon approves updates, we see them arrive on devices within a week. The rollout tends to start with a few devices and then rollout to more as the days progress.
I wonder if it removes color since it's been discontinued.

I don't know about you but somehow that's not a priority for me. I would just like to see BT fixed once and for all and I'll be happy...Quote:

Krispy,
Once an image becomes available you should be able to use Mobile ODIN: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] to flash the new image and inject root at the same time.

The update is being pushed right now. I left my desk at work and came back to the update. still pushing. Anybody else getting it.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]It's downloaded and rebooted but failed twice for me, still on 4.1.1 for now.
I'm not really concerned this seems like kind of a worthless update. The camera thing is a nice feature I'll use once a year maybe but I'm not really going to get excited until we get photosphere.

No we got that last week. Something about making G+ login more integrated.Quote:

Downloading now, then off to Walmart...Guess I'll see if the occasional bluetooth issue is fixed.

I believe that the split screen option is baked into 4.2...Patience grasshoppa!Quote:

Im noticing that it has made FoxFI much more stable and now it is back to holding a solid connection without dropping the phones data connection.
Yes it does
Accepting an OTA while on a custom ROM is almost always a bad idea. Usually they do break root and sometimes relock the bootloader, but it assumes you're on stock when updating.
Bluetooth is improved. Say it isn't so, but has my signal improved? Holding a decent 4g signal where i haven't been able to before.

Expanded notifications are shown with two fingers down now as well.
Ok, I noticed something extremely irritating about this latest update; Group Play seems to be broken already!
It worked great for a few minutes and then demanded to be updated. I followed the link to the Google Play store. I was greeted by an incompatible phone error message! So it demands to be updated but won't let me update!
If you don't update the app it kicks you back to the app drawer. If you try to update the app you get an incompatible phone error; catch 22.
Samsung.... Sigh... What are you doing?
Add to this the debacle we had last time with this same app being kicked out of the allshare cast app but not added to the app drawer like it was supposed to be.
I tried turning off the automatic update in Google Play, clearing Group Play data and cache on my phone and turning off Group Play notification. This would allow Group Play to work until it realized there was an update and started the whole process over again.
I like the Group Play feature when it works but it seems Samsung or Verizon is determined to keep it broken.
Anyone know how to get it running?
Update: Samsung updated the app in the play store. I was able to get my phone updated. I had to restart the phone so it would detect new group play sessions. I am actually impressed how fast this was fixed. Everything seems to work as it should and I'm happy.
