Re: Cdma/lte/evdo??
I tend to use just 3G, no LTE for me. LTE plays havoc with my battery, too marginal around here. So I switched my phone to just use 3G for cellular (mobile) data, and it's fast enough when I'm not at home. When I'm at home, I use WiFi, which is even faster around here *smile*.

Re: Cdma/lte/evdo??
I believe the Verizon GS3 is a world phone, meaning it will work on GSM networks as well as Verizon's own CDMA network (and roam on Sprint's CDMA network). In Gobal mode, it's likely searching for active GSM towers as well as Verizon's CDMA towers, so you've got two radios running, searching for a signal.
PLEASE, when asking for help provide as much information as possible. Otherwise, it's like calling your doctor and saying "My head hurts." Your doctor can't treat you unless he knows whether you have a headache or a concussion, and we can't help unless we know what the symptoms are and what you did before they occurred.
If I've helped you, please press the Thanks button.

Re: Cdma/lte/evdo??
Not sure about the "world phone" thing (it might be, I honestly don't know), but yeah, using the CDMA/LTE setting could prevent you from being to roam I imagine. I do know that when I'm riding the subway and lose all signal, my phone asks me if I want to switch to "Global" mode since it can't connect via LTE/CDMA.
I always keep mine set on LTE/CDMA. Not sure if it really saves on battery, but I figure at the very least it can't hurt since I'm in a Verizon saturated area anyway.
