Is there a way to block emails, texts and notifications during sleep time? I want to just be able to get emergency texts or phone calls from a few people. I know the apple product has it, but I am not sure if my S3 does

Thanks:p

Settings>My Device>Blocking Mode(the field, not the on/off switch)>On>Set Time>Allowed contacts>Custom>Add to list.

Enjoy the peace! :)

But does that allow me to specify who i allow

Posted via Android Central App
You can create a list of contacts who can "bust through" the Block.
Two ways to get into Blocking Mode settings:
1:Slide down Notification shade and press this:

Then press and hold this(may not be in the same order as mine):

or 2:
Press the Menu button on the home screen and select (System) Settings and get this screen, then select My Device:

Once you get in the My Device screen, scroll until you see:

Press where I put the arrow's point.

Using either method will take you to the following screen

You'll see this at the top:

Activate Blocking Mode(top arrow), Select "Custom" from "Allowed contacts" field(middle arrow), add which contacts you want to allow through the block in the "Allowed contact list"(bottom arrow):

I believe that in one of the Verizon Updates this feature was removed because Verizon offers a "pay" service to do that now. I have an older post referencing this.

Thanks, firedog. Never thought US Cell would out service anyone....
Here's an app that should do it - https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...details?id=com.cabooze.buzzoff&token=2N4ioeiM
It's free and has a good rating ratio. Says compatible with my model of S3, not sure about Verizon model.

(I added your link for the OP to see your solution - Here's the link to the app you chose, and I assume is compatible w/ Verizon S3 - https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...?id=com.zapek.android.sleeping&token=HMu3Q5Rs)
