You have to remember that VZW did NOT want to carry this phone at all! So while they finally carry it, they are going to punish us for buying it!

Don't you remember the storm and problems between Verizon and the consumers with the Droid DNA?

    Yeeeeeah, that's why.

April 29 2014 : I am using the HTC One M8 by Verizon. FM Radio was not installed.
On another site I discovered that other carriers use the NextRadio app. At first, the NextRadio app wouldn't Install because it is not allowed on my Verizon phone.
So, I sneakily found the APK on internet.
From the website I downloaded the file to my Verizon HTC M8. Using a file manager, I located the file on phone, tapped it, and it installed with no problem
I am listening to the FM radio as I type this.
    Attached copy of the file.
    regards from Marla

I just purchased my HTC One from VZW and it didn't have the FM tuner app like my Thunderbolt did. My research indicated that the HTC One does have an FM tuner but the automatons at the VZW store didn't have a collective clue to confirm whether theirs did. I took the chance and bought it anyway and was disappointed to not find the app UNTIL I saw the message about NextRadio. I installed it and was tuning in to local stations right away.

If you're still interested in an FM radio app, Verizon (and all carriers as a matter of fact) just enabled their FM tuner for the HTC One M8's. I highly recommend NextRadio, it's a new radio app that is extremely innovative and interactive, and it doesn't use up data or battery life.

Not on the M7. Still won't work. I read on another site where a Oklahoma user was wanting it because a tornado was coming and they could use it to monitor the local stations. Really Verizon? The all mighty dollar is more important than saved lives?
I hate Ihart app because you get double dipped for the ads. Both the station and the app.

The Verizon HTC One Remix has the FM chip built-in and it IS unlocked out of the box.
And yet no software updates as promised. HTC themselves promised us Remix owners updates yet, I have never received one yet. Been almost a year with this phone.

Just spent an hour on the phone with Verizon AND HTC, at the same time. No luck. I was trying to get the NextRadio app working for my HTC One M7. The rep with Verizon tried his damndest to figure out a way forward, but his hands were tied. The HTC rep just shifted the blame to "third party apps" (but wouldn't provide me with the "first party" HTC fm radio app, which ostensibly would be able to access the FM signal - )

    Blah.

You just need to root your phone and install a custom rom. I had an Verizon M7 and used FM Radio and NextRadio, of course with headphones plugged in.

Just hope you don't live in an area where a natural disaster could wipe out cell coverage. Or live in a city that has professional sports. Or use the FM signal to watch TV in public areas. Or want to listen to something other than music.

I have installed HTC’s FM Radio application on my HTC One "Remix" by Verizon and it works perfectly! Here is how I did it. 1.) On your PC, download and save the HTC file named "FM_Radio.apk". (Search for “How to put FM Radio on HTC One”. Sorry, for some reason I'm not allowed to post links here. 2.) Connect your phone to the computer using a sync-able USB cable. Allow a moment for the drivers to be installed, then copy the file to your phone’s “download” directory. 3.) If your phone doesn’t allow you to browse to the file and “install” it, simply go to Google Play and download “ES File Explorer”. This free app allows you to browse to and install the “FM_Radio.apk” file. After installing ES File Explorer, simply tap the FM_Radio.apk file and select the “install” option. The install will now behave pretty much like any other install, starting with the usual phone access warnings, etc. When done, simply open your new FM Radio app and enjoy!

This is all due to the fact that once enabled Verizon can't make any money from users listening to the FM radio. Complain to Verizon all you want, but don't expect them to change their attitude.
Verizon want YOU to PAY for any and all services!!!!!
