M7 Lollipop Update Notification Quirks

I just recently updated my M7 to the Lollipop OS and would like to know if it is possible to disable the notification bar that pops up at the top of the screen while the phone is in use, not locked. The notification to me looks bad and is annoying always blocking buttons and other things as I am using other apps. The only way to get it out of the way is to wait or swipe it aside which will not store it in your notification tray. There is a screenshot of the notification I am talking about in the attachments. I wish for notifications to act like they did in the past on the M7 and alert me in a less annoying way. Thank you very much for reading

Welcome to Android Central! That is unfortunately part of how Lollipop notifications work now. If there is a way to disable that banner-type notification, you'd have to root the phone first.
