Light Leakage - Casing

So I noticed at night, the casing between the glass and outer rim, some light shines through that light up the buttons. Curious if anyone else is or has experienced this? I had this same problem with my EVO back in the day. Its not impacting the use of the phone, just one of those minor annoyances.

That light that leaks between the bottom bezel and the bottom of the phone is not supposed to be that way, but it is very common.

I have had that on every HTC phone I have ever had.

Like I said, its not a HUGE issue. Just curious if I should be concerned. So basically ignore it?

There is a little piece of me that is thinking about trading this bad boy in for the Nexus, if it ever releases.

You could do that. But Samsung's hardware comes with its own quirks.

I've been warned about their cheap plastic.

Any idea on the rezound gpu vs the nexus?

Supposedly, Nexus GPU is identical to the one Samsung was using on their Galaxy S phones. So in other words, it's old.
But the Nexus fans went rabid with the "it's good enough!" comments like they did with the 5MP camera.
I was on board for the Nexus, but Samsung hardware is a huge no-no for me, after handling a Fascinate and a Charge.

Biggest "quirk" that will prevent me from ever buying another Samsung phone: notoriously bad GPS. My old Charge would take 10 min to find a GPS lock. I gave up using Google Maps to navigate with it and used my Xoom instead.

One of the potential dealbreakers on the Rezound was GPS lock. Salesman had to take one outside and get a lock without wifi before I'd buy it

Had my rezound replaced due to stress fractures in the outter rim. The new device has pretty bad light leakage at the very bottom. I'm thinking this is normal with this phone.

Thoughts?

Are you talking about where the battery cover connects to the phone? Cause that's the only place I see any light seeping and I'm guessing I have the vzw sales manager to thank for that.

He couldn't get the cover off and for a minute I thought he was gonna use his teeth on it. Otherwise

Sorry, none there on my phone. Like I said, there's the tiniest bit of red glow at the battery cover but its definitely the battery cover on mine.

I tried taking pics but they didn't come out. So along the edge of the glass on the bottom, its white. Looks like someone took white-out and drew a line around the bottom of my phone. I compared it to my friends Rezound and you can clearly see its defective.

I really hate going into Verizon for yet another replacement. However, all I need to do is remind myself that I bought this thing outright so they can go pound sand.

Oh wow, I thought my Fascinate was just defective in this area? I didn't know this was a common issue. The GPS, as a whole, was horrible. It actually put me in some potentially dangerous situations a few times (thank you West Baltimore).
