Anyone returning Rezound For Nexus?
Title says it all...I know I am not, especially since I got the 49 Costco deal. This phone is about perfect as far as I am concerned. Plus I figure they will have the update available for the Rezound by the time all the bugs are worked out in ICS. Plus I am not a Samsung fan. They tend to put out products that look great on paper but rarely live up to the specs and the hype.

Re: Anyone returning Rezound For Nexus?
I'm not planning on it, it'll get rooted by January probably and that is the only reason why I'd switch the Nexus. Nexus doesn't have an SD slot, doesn't have have USB mounted storage, and Verizon took out the NFC. The Rezound has a better screen, better processor and and sd slot and usb mounted storage.

Re: Anyone returning Rezound For Nexus?
The screens are more or less the same. I will firmly agree that the Rezound is slightly better in terms of CPU but the camera is a tie which could change once GN is released. I will be the first to admit that I like the Rezound better than the Nexus but there's proof that the bootloader is encrypted. For those that like to do more than just root that could be a deal breaker. Personally, I'm torn but I will make my decision on Friday.

Re: Anyone returning Rezound For Nexus?
im still up in the air but im leaning towards keeping the rezound. my nexus s didnt even last a year without breaking so im kind of turned off right now. samsung makes some great products and i know my last was in the very low percent with the power button issues i had. im htc eris is still being used by a friend and doesnt have a scratch on it.

Re: Anyone returning Rezound For Nexus?
Nope, The Rezound is perfect for me. I hate Samsung phones and everyone that I know with one or have had them have had MANY issues!! Just because it is pure Google does not mean it will not be encrypted. I am sure Verizon will lock it down like every other phone!

Re: Anyone returning Rezound For Nexus?
It's been confirmed that the GN has not been locked down like the Rezound. Verizon, unfortunately is ignoring the law set in place when they won the spectrum and that is to keep bootloaders unlocked for using the C block. I wish someone would not only call them out on it but challenge them in court.

Re: Anyone returning Rezound For Nexus?
I will be returning my Rezound for the Nexus..
I wanted to love the Rezound. But I am on my 3rd one now, first and second one had headphone jack problems, the second one also had pink capacitive buttons, and it started boot looping out of the blue.
The shady build quality does not make me feel comfortable with keeping this phone for the entirety of the contract. - 12-06-2011, 05:47 PM #17
Re: Anyone returning Rezound For Nexus?
I will be keeping mine. I was initially going to wait for the Galaxy Nexus, but the fact that I got the Rezound for a penny and that the phone is plenty awesome, I see no need to return it. Plus I just bought the extended battery and skin. The phone lasted 14 hours and still going while in performance mode all day. That means 4G has been on all day long. Love it.

Re: Anyone returning Rezound For Nexus?
As it stands now, I'm torn between Rezound and Nexus. If I already had a Rezound, any marginal advantage of the Nexus (assuming there is some - I haven't decided yet) wouldn't be worth the effort of returning the Rezound. I prefer the design accents on the Rezound, and like the fact that it has removable storage and higher pixel density. And if the Nexus ends up being $299 after all, at least the Rezound will have come with a pair of overrated, overpriced earbuds for the same price instead of the typical junk earbuds.

I am on the fence, the lack of root scares me. If we had CM9 support with an unlocked boot loader I would keep it for sure.

Re: Anyone returning Rezound For Nexus?
If I could do a direct exchange, I'd consider it depending on how things go. But if I have to cough up another $250 just to get it, then i'd pass.

Will exchange for galaxy nexus as Rezound is unable to push my corporate email while in 4g area. Been going between VZW and HTC since launch date with no resolution still. All other data works in 4g and email works as expected in 3g. Oh well....

Re: Anyone returning Rezound For Nexus?
Had mine only about a week and for the 1¢ I payed even if I wanted to switch it would cost me $$. NO WAY. Besides, I have not had a single problem with this phone. Battery life is better than I expected. And the camera is the icing on the cake. End of story...
I'm hooked...

Re: Anyone returning Rezound For Nexus?
made the decision before i bought the rezound. i have been waiting for the GN for months and months.
from the reviews I read the rezound has a noticeably better camera which i want - and quite important to me.
i like the size better, and i like having removable storage. not to mention the PPI is better. and when HTC said they are strongly considering not hard skinning ICS, it seemed like the rezound was the best phone on Verizon if I wanted to get one by the end of the year and enjoy ICS later on it.
