Default My phone insists on Pacific time

When I set my phone to use the network time, it shifts to Pacific time and drops the time back one hour. I'm in Arizona - we don't do that daylight savings. I can switch it to manual, change it to Arizona and leave it but if I turn automatic back on, it switches to Pacific time.

Anyone have an idea how to correct this??

    Thanks!!

*** UPDATE *** It just started working but stopped again. See below...

I was just coming back on here to say it's NOT fixed. :-( It switched back to Pacific time this morning. I put it on manual again, changed it to Arizona, put it back to auto and it stuck but I don't have a lot of faith that it will stay on Arizona time.

Its crazy annoying, I got it from the costco deal and ive been thinking that it has something to do with that, seeing as how they had to activate a sim card on our behalf in order active the phone.

Mines just started acting up. Says I was in "Tirana" time zone.

Mine is from Verizon so it's not Costco.

Sounds like a bug. Can you say long wait for HTC fix?

In AZ too and mine has been doing this since day one. There is some sort of bug in the os that doesn't read the info from vzw correctly. I'm assuming that because my other sense phone doesn't have the problem. I just leave it on manual and all is good until they either fix it or I can put a custom rom on it.

I'm in AZ also. I called Verizon and they checked HTC but it was not a known issue. They are sending me a refurb but if it is known issue, just not to HTC, then I will wait for a fix. Auto needs to be on to work with NFL app. I notified Verizon of that issue as well. Hopefully there is a fix soon!!

I'd like to know if there is anyone here in AZ who DOESN'T have the issue.

I don't think it would be a phone issue but rather a network problem?

In AZ as well and the issue arises once in a while but not all the time. If I click on the weather it updates back to AZ time.

It's managed to stay on AZ time for the past 24 hours. I probably should not have said that out loud... it might switch now. :-)

I have this issue too but I live in Las Vegas. There have been other threads discussing the issue of the clock moving one hour ahead. I believe it is a bug and not related to daylight savings or AZ time.

I think it's a bug due to the AZ non time change. What's funny is this is my one and only complaint about the Rezound. I'll take it!

It's probably connecting to a tower in California. Try using speedtest.net and selecting an Arizona tower or any tower in the same time and if that corrects it. I'm not sure it will do anything art all and even if it does it won't stick, but it would be interesting to see if it grabs the correct time.

That is an excellent thing to check! Appreciate that.

However I'd like to report that my phone has stayed on AZ time for the past three or four days.

    Knock on wood!

I've had issues too. I live in Colorado (MT), and when I was in Nevada (PT) for a week, the phone would usually be on Mountain time when I turned the screen on. I think usually it would clear up on its own, but sometimes I had to go into the Location Settings and then it would fix itself. Though there was one time it stayed in Mountain time (while I was still in Nevada) for over an hour and nothing I did fixed it.
Bringing up Google Maps always showed in the right location, but the time would be wrong.

I haven't had any problems with the phone in Colorado.

Just wanted to chime in as well... In Tucson and I'm having the same problem. I thought it was the phone because I was surely ready to send it back to BB. I hope a fix comes very soon. How can we get this escalated to a known issue with HTC? I was late to work the other day because the alarm went off at 7:30 am, but it was already 8:30 am . Had to pull out the old school alarm for now...

I'm in Phx and have had the problem from day 1. My son and I got the $49 Costco deal and his does the same thing. I discovered that when it happens I am always on 4g, and when I manually shift down to 3g, it automatically goes to the correct time. It's erratic, sometimes it does it and sometimes it does not. When its on the incorrect time the settings report that it is reading Pacific time zone, when it is correct they report Mountain. I finally got VzW to file a trouble ticket on it, and got a callback yesterday indicating that this is a known device issue, and HTC is working on a software patch that will be pushed out OTA as soon as they get it figured out.

Same here with an HTC Rezound. I don't see how it can be a network issue when my old Droid keeps correct Arizona time when set to automatic.

This is a known issue according to Verizon when I spoke to them yesterday.

Yep. I let them know about the time zone issue about a month ago. the HTC guy said it was a known issue. Honestly, he didn't sound to sure though.

    <-- In AZ also.

In NM. Phone also insists on Pacific time. Unchecked automatic date and time option and made adjustments manually.
