Auto-deleting email?

I use stock Mail for my Yahoo account and K-9 for my three POP3 accounts. (I use Gmail only for the Market.) Here is my question. On my BB, when deleting Yahoo mail, I had three choices: to delete both from the phone and the PC, only from the phone, and not to delete at all. When I chose both, it was gone from both. If I deleted on my PC, it was also gone from the phone. With Android, I have no such choices, and the phone and PC don't communicate with each other in deleting mail. Is this the way it supposed to be?

It is in your settings, account settings, fetch, when I delete a message. Select delete message from server. This is for k9. I think the stock mail has an option too, at least it did on my tb.
